Leadership Advisory Board Officer Information

 


 

 

Officers
The leadership advisory board will have officers that serve three year terms. The officers will include president, vice-president, and secretary. Other offices can be added if needed. Officers for the year will be elected at the annual fall meeting. These three officers will also serve as the county executive committee. Listed below are the functions of the LAB officers.

President

  • Oversees board and executive committee meetings.
  • Acts as a spokesperson for the organization.
  • Works with the County Extension Agents to recruit new LAB members.
  • Calls special LAB meetings when needed
  • Appoints members to special committees as needed.
  • Assists County Extension Agents to evaluate board members roles and performance

Vice President

  • Attends all board meetings.
  • Serves on the executive committee.
  • Carries out special assignments as requested by the board president.
  • Understand and perform the duties of the board president when the board president is absent.

Secretary

  • Attends all board meetings.
  • Serves on the executive committee.
  • Maintains all board records and ensure their accuracy.
  • Reviews board minutes. Provides notice of meetings of the board and/or of a committee when such notice is required.
  • Assumes responsibilities of president and vice-president in their absence.

Board Member Responsibilities

  • Attends all board meetings and functions
  • Be informed of the organization’s mission, services, policies, and programs.
  • Reviews agenda before meeting and be ready to provide discussion at the meeting.
  • Serves on sub-committees and assists with special assignments as needed.
  • Inform others about Texas Extension.
  • Works with the County Extension Agents to recruit new LAB members.
  • Keep up-to-date on developments concerning the county Extension program.
  • Assist the board in carryout out responsibilities such as long term visioning, reviewing financial statements, and advocacy of the county Extension Program.
